- 11/30/2009 The current discount direct from Novell is 38% until 02/01/2010. Thereafter the discount will be 34%. SHI and Dell (resellers of Novell products on the Microcomputer Software contract #15-20800-501) give the State a 39% discount until 02/01/2010. Thereafter the discount will be 35%.
02/02/2009 Novell is now increasing the discount from 34% to 38% until 02/01/2010 when the purchase order is issued directly to Novell. The discounts from the resellers at 44% remain the same.
10/22/2008 Novell is reducing the State''s discount on 2/1/2009 from 42% to 34% when you buy direct.
5/13/2008 Update regarding the Cost Benefit Analysis (CBA) process. This Contract includes Consulting Services directly from Novell. Purchases exceeding $25,000 require the Agency to complete a CBA.
This is a Master Contract Agreement for the purchase of Novell software licenses through a Novell Master License Agreement. The Master Agreement expires on June 30, 2010.
All Government purchases are made through a fulfillment agent --See Microcomputer Contract 15-20800-501 for contractor addresses, discounts, etc.
Educational purchases are made directly through Novell.
Dell/ASAP and SHI are the Fulfillment Agents (Resellers) for the period 9/1/2005 until August 31, 2009 for agencies purchasing products and maintenance through a Fulfillment Agent.
Please review the Contract documents in detail. A copy of the Novell’s MLA is attached to this web site along with the Addendum that was written to amend the MLA for the State of Wisconsin.
The primary point of contact should be the Fulfillment Agent for product and pricing questions. Contractual questions should be directed to Contract Manager or Novell Sales Contact.
Novell, Inc. is also listed as a vendor on this Contract for the period July 1, 2004-June 30, 2010 for the following reasons:
- The University and other academics purchase must purchase products and maintenance directly through Novell. (Note that all academics normally use the ALA price list.). You should use the University’s contract if you can be classified as an academic customer. Their pricing should be cheaper.
- Any consulting arrangements must be purchased directly with Novell and not through the Fulfillment Agent.
Novell gives the State a 42% discount from list price. Starting 2/1/2009 the discount direct from Novell will be 38% off list price.
The Novell contract number is 123569 for the period July 1, 2004-June 30, 2006. The Novell contract number for period July 1, 2006-June 30, 2008 is 7123569. This number is required for the enrollment process with Dell/ASAP, SHI or Novell.
From July 1, 2008-June 30, 2010, the July 2008 price list will be used to determine the State''s list prices).
(2/25/2009 price list clarification) If the item you want to purchase is a new item that is NOT on the July 2008 price list, the price for the item is determined from the price list where the item first appeared. Maintenance for that item is also determined by that price list until June 30, 2010.
The price lists are no longer archived on the Novell Web site. Therefore, the July 2008 Novell price list is attached) to this Contract.
If prices decrease during the 2-year period, our prices will also decrease. When new products are available, the prices will be the price that is current at the time of the order.
The State of Wisconsin discount is 44% from both Dell/ASAP and SHI (42% from SHI if you use a credit card). Novell''s discount is 42% if you buy direct (starting 2/1/2009 the discount will be 38%. Consulting work has a 10% discount available only from Novell.
Agencies should work with the vendor contacts listed to determine the most beneficial licensing arrangement.
The liability limits on the MLA coincide with the total dollars on the purchase order. Novell’s liability is 2 times the amount on the PO or $200,000, whichever is greater.
Statements of Work (SOW) need to identify your acceptance testing period unless you only need up to 30 days to determine whether or not their work on the SOW is acceptable. After 30 days, the work will be considered accepted unless the SOW calls for a different time period.
