Questions about the AHA/ERC 2005 Guidelines and upgrading your current AED''''s to these guidelines have come up. We have included a FAQ informational sheet that addresses some of these questions. It is located under attachments as "FAQ AED AHA ERC 2005 Guidelines". If you have further questions we recommend that you contact the manufacturer of your AED.

NOTE: Medtronic has discontinued the LifePak 500 line as of 1/26/2007. They still have many other models available. The LifePak 500 units in service will be supported by Medtronic for the next 7 years, thus existing units will not need to be considered for replacement until 2014. Medtronic does offer a trade in program so you may want to consider that if and when your units need to be replaced. We will post more information as it comes available. If you have concerns please contact your Medtronic Sales Rep.

It has been brought to our attention that Medtronic has decided to stop shipping any new AEDs in the US until they can get a situation with the FDA resolved. Please see the attached document "Medtronic Stops Shipments". We will post more info as it comes available. Please contract your Medtronic Sales Rep if you have questions or concerns.

9/12/07 Medtronic has issued an update on the FDA issue. Please see the attached document "Medtronic Update Letter 9 12 07" for more details.

5/1/08 Medtronic has announced they are manufacturing a limited amount of AED''''s for "the most critical needs of emergency response customers" as approved by the FDA. However they still have not met all the requirements for the FDA to allow them to resume regular manufacturing and shipping of the LIFEPAK units. Until the FDA is satisfied and approves regular manufacturing end users can expect lengthy delays in receiving any new AED''''s.

10/5/09 Philips has issued a recall on their Fr2+ units manufactured between May 07 and Jan 08. This recall is for models M3860A and M3861A. Philips will be in contact with the end users of the devices. Information is provided below under attachments as Philips Fr2+ recall.
