The 1122 Federal Procurement Program
BACKGROUND
Section 1122 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 1994 authorizes state and local law enforcement agencies to purchase new law enforcement equipment suitable for counter drug activities through Federal procurement channels. This program is designed specifically to save law enforcement agencies the cost of purchasing these items at retail prices. The goal of the program is to provide the economies of scale associated with federal government bulk purchases contracts to those on the front line of law enforcement – our local police, sheriffs and State Troopers – savings over commercial retail prices range from 9% for infrared cameras to 700% for aviation parts. Generally, the savings range from 10% to 32%!
PARTICIPATION
Participation in the WI 1122 Federal Procurement Program is easy! All that is required is a letter from your law enforcement agency telling us about your department, nature of drug problem in your jurisdiction, etc. Participation packages containing a sample letter are available upon request.

The easiest way to access available products is by clicking on the approved GSA schedules, find a vendor, call and ask for their catalog and . . . . their current GSA price list. Be sure and tell the vendor that you are calling with regard to the 1122 program since their participation is voluntary. In addition to GSA contracts, the following Federal agencies (website) can also be accessed for supplies and materials under the 1122 program.
